Come join one of the fastest-growing independently owned distributors in Northern California. Alameda Electrical Distributors & California Service Tool is looking for an Inside Sales Specialist I to join our team, enhance our sales group, and help continue to fuel our aggressive growth plans. This position will be based out of our Hayward, CA location and will work directly with our clients in the field to provide various support functions.

Responsibilities of Inside Sales Specialist:
  • Accurately prioritize emails and calls from customers based on customer size and relationship and order importance.
  • Provides new and current customers with product information including pricing, delivery, inventory stocking, and/or backorder availability functionally equivalent cross matches and value-added product information.
  • Evaluates open quotes or proposals weekly and expedites and follows up on all back orders.
  • Under general guidelines, exercises independent judgment and responsibility other profitability of resale orders.
  • Evaluates problem accounts or orders. Work with appropriate personnel to develop strategies, tactics and contingency plans to obtain desired market share.  Recommends deviations from standard policies and procedures such as pre-purchase approvals for payment terms, discounts, and freight charges.
  • Proactively goes after new opportunities w/new and existing customers to acquire new accounts and up sell.
  • Develops new and current customer accounts by marketing company product lines and offering value-added services and availability information to incoming callers.  Maintains current customer information including sales contracts, bonded inventory. requirements, contract terms and other pertinent account details.
  • Assist the sales counter associates on the sales counter when needed. 
  • Responsible for sales within a medium to large size territory.
 
Qualifications of Inside Sales Specialist:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience  (preferably within the Electrical Distribution Industry) including cold calling, purchasing, marketing/sales required.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. 
  • College courses in sales, marketing or business administration preferred. 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and PC skills required.
  • Aptitude for quantitative reasoning and analysis
  • Must be able to pass company background check 
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM schedule
